Students will learn the components of high quality CPR for adults, children and infants as well as how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED). Students will learn how to work as a team during a resuscitation attempt with multiple rescuers. In addition to CPR, the course will cover how to relieve a foreign body airway obstruction (choking) for in adults, children and infants as well as how to react in an opioid-associated life-threatening emergency.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
This course is for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
The American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider Manual (2020 Edition) is required for this course. Students may purchase this manual through MGA Academy or may purchase through a different source. If you purchase your provider manual through MGA Academy, your manual will be provided to you at the course. If you would like your manual prior to your course, you can contact MGA Academy to arrange to pick-up your manual prior to your scheduled course.
